GCC Kicks Off 40th Anniversary Celebrations with a Bang!
On April 12, Glendale Community College celebrated the 40th anniversary of the day GCC was created and named in 1965. Several hundred students and employees kicked off a year of celebration events by posing for a photograph in the shape of the college logo—a palm tree enclosed in a circle. GCC President Phil Randolph read Governor Napolitano’s proclamation naming April 12 as “Glendale Community College and Mesa Community College Day.” The GCC Jazz Band played as confetti rockets were launched and the crowd enjoyed cake and punch.
