ENG101 / ENG107

Introduction
To fulfill the fundamental purpose of improving student learning, assessment in ENG101 First Year Composition is conducted on a department-wide basis, utilizing both direct measures of student learning and indirect measures of student learning. District wide course competencies for ENG 101 and ENG 107 have been adopted.

Direct Measures of Student Learning
English faculty attend an annual Assessment Day held at the beginning of each fall semester to evaluate and refine the direct measurement assessment tools for ENG101. Direct Measurement Assessment Options include:
