Department Webs create opportunities for dialogue

Department webs create opportunities for dialogue in several ways. 

• Collaborative Web Design and Creation -- Because it portrays a public identity to viewers, the creation of the Department Web should be a collaboration amongst the people represented by the web.  Faculty, staff and students might decide together the content and appearance, giving everyone an opportunity for dialogue.

• Integration of Discussion Groups and Email -- Communication tools can be integrated into a website to promote dialogue, also.  Email links are generally included on every web page, but links might also be included to discussion groups established for specific purposes.

• Interactive Forms -- Additionally,  forms and other types of  feedback can be integrated into a web page to create dialogue about departmental concerns.

• English Department, GCC, contains a link to the English Faculty Discussion Group and email links
• Mosaicos Errata where anyone is invited to submit errors found in textbook and workbooks and view the database of errors in GCC's Foreign Language Department Web
