Computer Classrooms

The English department schedules faculty into rooms 150, 151, 152, 153, and 155 in High Tech Center 2. These classrooms use the eGCC network. Each classroom has a teacher computer connected to an overhead projection system, in addition to 24 to 25  student computers connected to the eGCC network running Windows XP software.  Faculty are asked to please call the Helpdesk at 53555 and report the problem if a computer does not work.

Projection Systems in Classrooms

The English department schedules faculty into these rooms with projection systems:

bullet

HT2-154-E, HT2-154-W (no more than 18 students; contact Claire Englehart to schedule temporary use )

bullet

LA-101, LA-105, LA-108, LA-141 (contact Dawn Meyer to schedule a temporary use)

The projection systems are connected to the computer in the classroom and will project on the screen whatever is shown on the computer monitor.  Use the remote control in the desk drawer to turn the projection system off and on.  Be sure to replace the remote in the desk drawer before leaving the classroom.  If you have problems with the projector system, call the GCC Helpdesk at 53555.

Request Temporary Use of a Computer Classroom

We believe in sharing to maximize our resources.  If you would like to use a computer-networked classroom for one or two class sessions, please email Claire Englehart.  She will contact people using the classrooms and try to work out sharing arrangements. Please submit your request at least a week or more in advance. If your request is for a computer classroom during a time that it is not available, Casey will contact all the teachers scheduled in computer rooms.  A trade can only be made if someone is willing to trade rooms for that day and time.

Request Reserved Pods in HT2

Teachers may take classes to use the computers in the HT1 Pit.  These computers are more readily available than a networked-classroom, and unless the teacher needs to present information to the whole class, this may be the more appropriate option.  Faculty may reserve computers in the HT2 pit by contacting Carmen Rivenburg at (623) 845-3259
or email carmen.rivenburg@gcmail.maricopa.edu.  View locations and hours for other computer labs on campus.
