Synopsis
Forster's master work and last novel, A Passage to India explores the problems of establishing friendships across cultural boundaries such as those that existed in India under British rule.  The central character is a young Indian doctor accused of raping a young Englishwoman, and although found innocent, his reputation, and friendships, are ruined.
