Ruth's Remarkable Parodies

More Ruth's Remarkable Parodies

Yes, Cooleagues,

I know your pain... Who amongst us has not thought, "Oh, no -- not the opera again!" Well, this is your moment!  It may not be the opera, but nevertheless, this month's offering does involve the ultimate tension of love combined with possible treachery and betrayal -- and yet, like Faust and Fidelio, all will be well if
only the token of true love is displayed at the right place and at the right time. (Oh yeah, and you need to picture a girly group singing backup...)

So with only a little further ado:

Our goal from now on is to ask for 2 big ones a month if you can stretch that far -- $1 for our regular scholarships and $1 for Pat's -- both to Dawn. I think Judy Sanchez should be sending out the official announcement on Memo any day now, and our own stalwart Marla, synchronized like a Busby Berkley chorus line, will launch the matching web-site. She will even try to keep a little "thermometer" going on it,  so we can watch the scholarship progress.

And now, don those letter sweaters, poodle shirts and saddle shoes -- and the ladies can dress up, too -- as we begin our day with a spot of  antyphonal warbling!

It's in Our Shirts

Will we make it?
I wanna know
How can I tell if we'll raise the dough?
Is it in your eyes?
(Oh no, I could be deceived)
Is it in your sighs?
(Oh! no, you could make believe)
If I wanna know if we’ll raise the dough,
It's in our shirts; that's where it is.

Is it in my songs?
(Oh! no, they're just nonsense)
In my writing no wrongs?
(Oh! no, that's just pretense)
If I wanna know, if we'll raise the dough
It's in our shirts; that's where it is.
It's in our shirts; that's where it is.

So put them on and wear with pride
And show folks you've got naught to hide
Maybe give two bucks, if it doesn't hurt
It's there in our shirts.

How 'bout you pay next week?
(That's not the way it works)
And you’re not listenin' to the poem of the shirts
If I wanna know, if we'll raise the dough
It's in our shirts; that's where it is.
It's in our shirts; that's where it is.
It's in our shirts; that's where it is.
It's in our shirts; that's where it is.

Thank goodness you only have to put up with this for one more month before school is out!!!!
