Ruth's Remarkable Parodies

More Ruth's Remarkable Parodies

Well, Cooleagues,

I salute you! We seem to have made it to the end of one of the most onerous years this department has ever faced, but now we are in the home stretch. Perhaps you can now imagine yourselves strolling elegantly along Olive Avenue - that famous thoroughfare - with your noses in the air... After all, who amongst us has not wanted be considered a debonair, sophisticated man about town?
But, whether the figure with the slicked-back hair in the white tuxedo is really you, or you need to reach deep into your tattered peasant's robe to draw out a few groschen (That's 1 "all-purpose" groschen and 1 "Pat Haas"* groschen to Dawn this Friday, please), walk this way... to this month's monstrously amazing performance...

Have you seen the term's debris
Here and there at GCC,

At their famous campus home
Looking for the monthly poem?

Sad eyes and wrinkled foreheads
There are nights they don't see their beds,

Yet they're spending every buck
To bring a kid some luck

Now, if you're blue
And you don't know just what to do,
Why don't you heed fashion's decree?
Puttin' on the T’s

Different types of clientele
From small to those who wear XL;
No need to squeeze
Puttin' on the T’s

Dressed up like great purple people eaters
Trying hard to look like we're world beaters
Lotus eaters!

Come, let's mix at Big B's do
Where Mary'll be honored
And Casey, too
Puttin' on the T’s

Wear our shirts just like it's really kosher
Never to surrender our composure
With too much exposure

We'll declare no wrongs will e'er be writed
That our students' prose will ne'er be sadly blighted
In short, we'll be carefree
Puttin' on the T’s!

Quick! Somebody kill the lights!

* I have also recently enquired of Judy Sanchez re Pat's scholarship fund. As soon as she gives me (or Marla) the new figure, Marla will obviously move the motorcycle across the page. Here's the link to keep an eye on things:
