I. Meeting called to order at 12:07p.m.
by Scott Kozakiewicz
II. Campus
Climate Survey
v
The consensus
was that GCC is a healthy organization with some issues that need to be
addressed. Overall GCC is doing
well. The meeting was informative. Some groups have more issues than other
groups. Anytime you do a survey, which
is based on perception, you get a snapshot of that point in time. Surveys are good but they need a basis of
comparative data. Hopefully, GCC or
another college from the district will do this again in the future. PSA received 5 copies of the results. The books will be available for review in
Carolyn Perciful’s office, Dawn Meyer’s office, and Scott Kozakiewicz’s
office. If you have any questions,
please contact Scott.
v
The survey
tried to get viable data and not create a white washed document. Before the survey went out, the identity and
privacy of employees was guaranteed. The
comment section will not be released.
The comments could not be rewritten to ensure that the employee who had
written the remarks would remain unidentified. The identity of all employees will be protected by not releasing the
comments.
v
What this
survey did teach us is that communication needs to be improved at GCC. If a problem is perceived, then it is
reality. When GCC learns to communicate
better, then some of the problems will be improved.
v
PSA should
embrace issues and diversity. Let’s ask
ourselves how PSA can support GCC. PSA
should consider taking the lead in this area.
