Class Cancellations
Class Cancellations by Administration
The administration may cancel classes at the beginning of the semester for various reasons, including low enrollment and lack of a quality instructor. It is the responsibility of the department and the college to notify students enrolled in a class that is canceled.
There is no reimbursement to the faculty member for class preparation in the event that the class is canceled.
Class Cancellations by Instructor
All instructors are expected to be present for each class for the entire period as listed in the class schedule. In the event that an instructor must cancel a class, the department chair or assistant should be contacted as soon as possible so that a substitute may be hired. When possible, a 24-hour notice is desirable. Adjunct faculty are not paid for absences.
