ADJUNCT FACULTY ORIENTATION NOW AVAILABLE ON VIDEO
If you missed the Spring 2003 Adjunct Faculty Orientations, I would highly recommend that you invest a couple of hours of your time and watch the video that was made of the first Orientation.  There are several copies available for checkout at the Library Media Center (the checkout counter is located in the north-east area of the library).  Do yourself a favor and check one of these out, pop up some popcorn, and then sit back and relax while you see and hear from the Directors and Deans of the various departmental areas on campus.  You'll be surprised how much you will learn from these informative sessions ... I promise!

GCC ADJUNCT FACULTY COUNCIL
The concept of a local adjunct council, which will "strive to improve the quality of life for adjunct faculty at GCC and throughout MCCCD," is slowly becoming a reality.  Several adjuncts have indicated their interest in serving on the council or in helping out in other ways.  Diana Abel and Chuck Jeffery have volunteered to represent the residential faculty and the Administration, respectively, on the Council.  There will be more about this in future issues as the goals and structure of the GCC AFC gradually materialize.

SPRING HAS SPRUNG AND SUMMER IS ALMOST HERE
I hope that the Spring 2003 semester was a successful one for everyone.  Those of you that will be returning to teach either of the summer semesters, look for the Summer 2003 issues of Postcards from the Adjunct to stay informed and up-to-date on what's going on around GCC and the District.  If you are not teaching this summer, then I hope you will have an enjoyable break and I look forward to seeing you back here next Fall.
