Welcome to the Agribusiness and Urban Horticulture Department. Agribusiness sales and service employment is in non-farming agricultural occupations such as agricultural machinery and equipment, agricultural chemicals, animal feeds and supplies, and the production and marketing of farm products. Most of the effort to increase farm output will probably be borne by agribusiness. Since farm output will be higher there will be more work to do in preparing and marketing grains, meats, sugar , and all other products that farmers produce. Urban Horticulture employment is in non-farming agricultural occupations such as greenhouse and nursery management, commercial and residential landscaping, and parks and golf course maintenance. As the Phoenix area becomes more urbanized there will be an increased need for specialized services in the broad field of Urban Horticulture. |
