Introduction to ceramic materials and techniques of hand construction, decorating, glazing and throwing on potters' wheel. Prerequisites: None.
ART 162 Ceramics II F,S,D,E,Su1,2 3 credits 6 periods
Major emphasis on wheel throwing, glaze making and decorating techniques. Prerequisites: ART 161.
ART 261 Ceramics III F,S,D,E,Su1,2 3 credits 6 periods
Emphasis on wheel throwing skill and individual style development. Prerequisites: ART 162.
ART 262 Ceramics IV F,S,D,E,Su1,2 3 credits 6 periods
Experimental work in clays and glazes. Prerequisites: ART 261.
ART 290 Studio Art F,S,D,E,Su1,2 3 credits 6 periods
Studio course for art majors allowing continuation in subject field. Prerequisites: All 100 and 200 courses in subject matter area, or permission of instructor.
ART 295GA Art Workshop/Seminar: Ceramics 1 credit 2 periods
Advanced level workshop seminar in art disciplines. Prerequisites: Minimum of three (3) credits introductory and three (3) credits intermediate level courses in specific field, or permission of Department/Division Chair.
