Do I have to bring a set of tools to take automotive classes?
No, the Automotive Department boasts a fully stocked tool room that will provide tools and common consumables for your use during lab (shop) time.

No. We only allow students to work on GCC Automotive Department vehicles and, in certain classes, vehicles belonging to students enrolled in that specific class.
OK then, does the Automotive Department have vehicles for me to work on?
Yes, we have a large number of vehicles of all types and many late model vehicles that are specifically designated for each of the programs as student practice vehicles.
I really do not know anything about cars and car repair. Is there a class that I can take to get really basic car knowledge?
YES! General Automotive Maintenance (AUT097) is recommended for students with little or no experience in automotives, who desire to learn more about the care and maintenance of their own car.
