Frog

Greenhouse:

Located south of the coffee bar on the first floor of the new LS Building, the Biology Department Greenhouse provides an ideal environment to grow botanical specimens for courses. Its riparian habitat will also be home to threatened Arizona-native wildlife, like this Chiricahua Leopard Frog.

Science Olympiad:
GCC has been hosting the state tournament for the high school division of the Science Olympiad for 25 years. The tournament is organized by members of the GCC Biology department. The 2014 tournament will be held on Saturday, March 1.

Field Programs:
The GCC Biology department offers a variety of field courses on an occasional basis. Sites have included Hawaii, Tahiti, and Ecuador. These courses provide students with the opportunity to study various parts of the world from a biological perspective.
