Lesson 06 - Motion Tweening

  • Foundation Flash MX
    Read and do the work for the "Motion Tweening" chapter.

Practice Work
  1. Start Flash
  2. Save the File as CIRCLES
  3. Display the rulers with the snap to option on
  4. Set the Width to 250px the Height to 200px, leave the background as white
  5. Use the oval tool to create a circle, approximatley 50 x 50
  6. Change the oval's fill to red
  7. Convert the oval to a symbol, by selecting the oval and selecting the Convert to Symbol command from the Insert menu
  8. Name the Symbol Redball and leave the behavior as movie clip
  9. Use the Arrange panel to align the instance of the redball symbol to the left-top of the stage
  10. Copy another instance of the redball to the stage by dragging the redball symbol from the Symbols panel
  11. Align it to the top-right of the stage
  12. Duplicate the redball symbol, name the copy Yellowball
  13. Copy an instance of the Yellowball symbol to the stage.
  14. Right-Click over the the yellowball instance and select Edit in Place
  15. Change the fill color to yellow
  16. Return to Scene1
  17. Align the instance to the center of the stage
  18. Use the Effect panel to apply a -30% brightness effect to the top-left redball instance
  19. Use the Effect panel to apply a 50% blue tint effect to the top-right redball instance
  20. Use the Effect panel to apply a 50% alpha effect to the yellowball instance
  21. Use the resize tool to change the shape of the yellowball instance to match the figure below
  22. Use the Character tool to number the instances on the stage.
  23. Turn off the "To Stage" option on the align panel and align the numbers to the center of each instance
  24. Compare to the image below

  1. Create a new file and use the necessary tools to replicate the image below.


  2. Movie and Instance Properties
    • Movie Width: 300px
    • Movie Height: 300px
    • Instance 1: 20% Brightness, Alignment is Left-Top
    • Instance 2: 50% Red Tint, Alignment is Right-Top
    • Instance 3: 50% Blue Tint, Alignment is Left-Bottom
    • Instance 4: -20% Brightness, Alignment is Right-Bottom
    • Instance 5: 20% Alpha, Alignment is Centered and resized to fill the stage. * You may need to use the Arrange command (found in the Modify menu) to get the 5th instance on top of the other 4
  3. Save the file as CIS120DC06
