CIS124AA - Microsoft Project 2003 Level I - Syllabus  1 Credit

I. COURSE DESCRIPTION

This course is designed to give you a basic introduction to Microsoft Project. The course covers several major areas:
The work for this class will be done on Windows based computers using Microsoft Project 2003, Internet Explorer and Outlook Express. This course can NOT be completed with America OnLine. 

II. COURSE MATERIALS

The following items are needed for this course:
 
At least two pre formatted 3-l/2" floppy diskettes (High density) for use on an Widows compatible microcomputer.

III. COURSE REQUIREMENTS AND PROCEDURES

This course is organized into six Lessons. Each Lesson covers one or two chapters from the text. You need to carefully work your way through each Lesson.  Do NOT jump around from one part to another.  Each Lesson has the following parts:

IV. GRADING

Please carefully read the following about when and how things are graded in this course:
  • Assignments are be graded about twice a week.
  • Course grades are calculated once a week.  If you need a grade at an earlier time you must use the "Ask a Question" button to request special arrangements several days in advance.
  • All assignments and questions MUST be sent in using the links on the CIS124 pages.

  • DO NOT send Assignments or Questions through regular email to a specific person (i.e. Tim).

A. Grading Scale

Grades are an evaluation of the student's learning. Your grade will reflect your level of competency. Your grade will be based on the following point system:

B. Converting Points to a Grade

Your letter grade will be determined by the following scale.  Students taking this course Pass/Fail must achieve a score of 140 or better to Pass.  Course grades are calculated once a week.  If you need a grade sooner than once a week, please send a request using the "Ask a Question" link.  We will try to assist, especially if you give us a few days warning.

C 159 - 140 points
F 139 - 000 points

V. OTHER IMPORTANT POLICIES

A. Extensions

You are permitted ONLY ONE extension of 8 school weeks (a school week is when classes are in session) past your present end date. Requests to have your end date extended MUST be sent in using the Extension Request Form at the CIS124 home page.  You should receive an email reply in several days letting you know the status of your extension request.

In order to be granted that extension you MUST have completed at least the following:

Do not call, email or use the green forms in the High Tech Centers to request extensions. Extensions are only considered if you fill out and submit the on-line extension request form.

B. Academic Dishonesty

Students are expected to do their own assignments. Instances of academic dishonesty will result in NO CREDIT for the assignments for all who participate; repeated instances will result in a final grade of F.

IMPORTANT NOTE

Students are expected to be familiar with college policies covered in the Glendale Community College catalog.
