Account Access From Off Campus:
For WindowsXP
- Right-click on the Start menu and open "Explorer." The Windows Explorer window should appear.
- In the left side of the Windows Explorer window, you may see a sidebar with certain categories: "System Tasks," "Other Places" and "Details." click once on "My Network Places," which is found under "Other Places." If you don't see the categories, simply locate "My Network Places" in the folder tree.
- The left side of the Windows Explorer window might change slightly. As before, you may see a sidebar with certain categories: "Network Tasks," "Other Places" and "Details." Under "Network Tasks," click once on "Add Network Place."
- If you do not see the three categories, please click on the "Folders" button located at the top of the Explorer window. Or, go to View > Explorer Bar and click on "Folders" such that the checkmark next to "Folders" disappears. You should now see the three categories.
- You should see "Welcome to the Add Network Place Wizard" select "next."
- On the next screen, you should be asked to "Select a service provider". From the options listed, please click on "Choose another network location. Specify the address of a Web site, network location or FTP site". Then, click "next."
- Now, you should be asked, "What is the address of this network place?" This is a little tricky, so we'll explain it here:
- The last 3 directories will be related to your eGCC username, the first will be the first letter of the username, the second will be the second letter of the username and the third will be your eGCC username.
- For example, Adam Johnson might be /a/j/ajohnson . On the screen you should see "Internet or Network address:" enter in the box: https://myfiles.gccaz.edu/home/a/j/ajohnson (change the "/a/j/ajohnson" to reflect your own username). Now, click "next."
- You should see a login screen, login with your eGCC (Palette) username and password.
- Rename the shortcut if you wish then "next."
- Select "Finish."
- In the Explorer window you should now see ajohnson (your own username) on files.gccaz.edu as a shortcut under "My Network Places."
For Macintosh OSX
- From the Finder, select "Connect to Server" from the Go menu.
- The last 3 directories you input will be related to your eGCC (Palette) username, the first will be the first letter of the username, the second will be the second letter of the username and the third will be your eGCC (Palette) username. For example Adam Johnson might be /a/j/ajohnson
On the screen you should see "Connect to Server" enter the server address in this box:
https://myfiles.gccaz.edu/home/a/j/ajohnson (change the "/a/j/ajohnson" to reflect your own username) then select "Connect."
- In the resulting box titled "WebDAV File System Authorization" enter your eGCC (Palette) username and password then select "Ok."
- A window will be opened displaying the files in your home directory.
