Official Course Description
Introduction to basic JavaScript programming concepts including
syntax. Covers Hypertext Markup Language (HTML), programming logic and
debugging, as well as forms manipulation and animation. All course materials

The prerequisites for this course is CIS133CA or CIS133DA or permission
of instructor.

- Identify uses for JavaScript.
- Create a Hypertext Markup Language (HTML) document.
- Create a JavaScript source file.
- Demonstrate procedures for declaring and using variables.
- Demonstrate procedures for using JavaScript objects.
- Summarize procedures for using data types and expressions.
- Create and use decision-making statements.
- Create and use repetition statements.
- Describe the use of the JavaScript object model.
- Explain form
elements.
- Explain the use of dynamic HTML.
- Demonstrate procedures for using JavaScript with styles
Course Requirements and Procedure
Each Lesson will require reading
from the textbook. You will complete the practice work
in the book and then complete the assignment and submit it for grading. Each
Lesson has the following parts

- You will be assigned a chapter from the text book to read.
- There will also be supplemental reading and examples online

| 2. Practice Work |
- The practice work assigned will help you create the basis
for your assignment
- Although the practice work will not be graded, it is critical
for you to be able to complete your assignment

| 3. Assignment |
- After you have completed the Reading and the Practice work
of a Lesson, you will then be able to complete the Assignment.
Your assignment will be sent in to be graded through e-mail.

- Assignments are graded twice a week on average.
- Assignments MUST be sent in using the proper links on the CIS120DC
pages.
