Software Assistance/Programming Help

We offer a variety of courses on Software Applications (operating systems, spreadsheets, databases, presentation graphics, word processing, desktop publication) as well as

  • BPC101AA, BA, AB, BB, CA, CB (various computer literacy modules for those who have little knowledge of computers.
  • BPC110- Computer Usage and Applications - a 3 credit course, transferable to ASU and ASU West as CSE180 with N3 credit.
  • Excel is offered as separate 1 credit classes (CIS114AE, CIS114BE, and CIS114CE) or as one three-credit course (CIS114DE) in an open entry open exit distance learning format. In addition, the CIS114AE course is usually offered as a structured class. Please check the schedule.
  • In the database area we offer Microsoft Access and Database design.

     Purpose

     

    The Glendale Community College Business Personal Computer and Computer Information Systems courses are designed to:

    • Provide for skills and knowledge needed for jobs in today's Business environment.
    • Make available courses on new computer technology including Windows NT, Oracle and the Internet.
    • Give members of our community an opportunity to learn how to use various computer software that they have purchased for their home use.
    • Assist students seeking a Bachelor's degree with courses that will transfer to this state's major four-year schools.
    The BPC/CIS Advisory Board is made up of individuals from businesses in the local area that Glendale Community College serves.  We rely heavily on their direction and advice so that we can better meet the present and future needs of our students and their employers.
