• Do I really need to take a UNIX course before I take the CIS119DP Oracle Database Administration?

  It is strongly recommended that you have completed CIS126AA prior to taking CIS119DP. Another approach is to take CIS126AA and CIS119DP at the same time.
  

• When should I take CIS164AG Oracle Database Modeling and and Relational Database Design?

It is best to take CIS164AG early in your Oracle education. The course provides a strong sense understanding of Oracle database design. The concepts presented in this class are interspersed through out the Oracle course.


• Can I take CIS119DO Introduction to Oracle SQL & PL/SQL and CIS119DP Oracle Database Administration at the same time?

Yes. There have been a large number of students that have used this strategy to make better use of their time.


• Can I get discounts on Oracle certification exams.

  Yes. Students enrolled in Oracle classes are entitled to FREE discount coupons. If you are enrolled in an Oracle class, please see your instructor for the discount coupons.
  

• As an enrolled Oracle student, am I entitled to reduced pricing when I purchase Oracle software.

  No. But, as a student enrolled in an Oracle class and a member of the Oracle Academic Initiative(free membership) you are entitled to copies of the Oracle software that are applicable to the class you are enrolled. The use of this software falls under the Oracle Academic Initiative licensing agreement. See you Oracle instructor for more information on obtaining software.
  

• What is the best way to prepare for the Oracle certificated exams?

  Oracle recommends certificate candiates take the following steps to help increase the chances of passing certification exams.

  • Take the instructor lead Oracle courses
  • Obtain and work through Computer Based Testing/Training materials
  • Get some hands-on/work expirence in the area you are going to test in.
