BOOKWORM COMPETITION
Goal:
· The goal is to create a class Bookworm by having
each child read as many books and write as many summaries as possible.
Prizes:
· A reward will go to the student who reads and
then writes the most summaries.
·
A pizza party will go to the class that collectively writes the most
summaries.
Guidelines: To ensure that everyone receives credit
for the Bookworms, please follow all the guidelines.
1. Bookworm segments should be 6 inches in diameter. (Feel
free to copy the enclosed sample sheet on colored paper.)
2. Each summary should include the title, the author, the
student’s name, and the date.
3. All Bookworms should include the information
shown on the circle (head of the bookworm) below.
4. Each bookworm’s segments should be stacked with
the head on top and placed in clear plastic gallon size bags.
5. Length and difficulty of the books are left to
the teacher’s discretion.
6. All Bookworms must be mailed to the Center for Learning
and postmarked by October 28th, 2005.
