Nursing Entrance Test(NET)
Information Sheet




Description of Test Content:

The NET is a computer-based test consisting of seven parts: essential math skills, reading comprehension for science textbooks, reading rate, test-taking skills, stress level profile, social interaction profile and learning style. Although all seven parts must be completed, only the math skills and reading comprehension scores will be used to calculate application eligibility. A reading comprehension score of 50% or higher and a math score of 50% or higher must be achieved for admission. Math skills problems consist of whole number, decimals, fraction, percentages, number system conversions and algebra equations (60 problems in 60 minutes). Calculators are NOT allowed. Scratch paper will be provided. Reading comprehension involves reading selections and answering questions (33 questions in 30 minutes).

Preparation & Remediation:

The NET study guide is available for purchase in the bookstore, through ERI at www.eriworld.com for $27.50, and is also on reserve at college libraries and learning resource centers. In addition, test preparation & review is available at the learning assistance center for students registered with the college. In the event that the student did not achieve the required score, time for remediation and retesting is provided. Applicant may retest after a 60 day remediation period for a maximum of 3 times each year. It is recommended that students complete the NET test well before they plan to submit their nursing application; however, test results are valid for only one year.

Testing process Registration & Cost:

Testing is available at all campuses offering the nursing program. The cost of the exam will be the approximately $25.00. Each campus will have an information flyer detailing the process for paying, registering, and completing the NET. Admission to the testing center for testing includes an acceptable photo ID, pencil and receipt for testing fee. Contact the testing center for more information.

Results:

The results of the NET will be printed upon completion of the test and the students will receive copy before you leave the testing center. The scores will be posted on the student information system (SIS). KEEP THE COPY of the results of the NET test, as a copy of results must be submitted with the nursing program application.

Retesting:

Applicant may retest after a 60 day remediation period for a maximum of 3 times each year. The entire NET test must be taken on each retest. The cost of each retest is approximately $25.00.
