Using screen captures

=================

The easiest way to restore your customizations is to use the Print Screen capabilities of your operating system to capture your desktop, your applications folder (Mac) or Program Files (Windows), and your mapped drives.

Windows:

To capture a picture of your desktop:

With all windows minimized, click PrintScreen.  Open a new document in Word or in WordPad.  Paste the image into the document.
To capture an image of your Start Menu:
Right-click on the Start button.  Click on Explore.  Navigate to StartMenu | Programs.  Use Alt-PrintScreen to capture just the active window.  Open a new document in Word or WordPad.  Paste the image into the document.  You may have to take several screen shots to capture all your programs.
To capture an image of your mapped drives:
Open My Computer.  Use Alt-PrintScreen to capture just the active window.  Open a new document in Word or WordPad.  Paste the image into the document.
Macintosh:

To capture a picture of your desktop:

With all windows minimized, click Shift-Command-3.  This saves a file on your hard drive called "picture 1."  Open a new document in Word.  Use the Insert command to pull the picture into a document.
To capture an image of your Applications Folder:
Double-click on your hard drive.  Double-click on Applications.   Use File | Print Window. . . to print  just the active window.
Finally, don't forget to either print your screen shots or copy them to your server space!  You can store the printed copies in your Desktop Project Workbook for future reference.
