CRYSTALLOGRAPHY  Monoclinic

CRYSTAL GROWTH AND HABITS  Fluorrichterite most commonly forms prismatic crystals with a nearly diamond shaped cross section.

COLOR AND OTHER OPTICAL PROPERTIES  The color of fluorrichterite is commonly a very dark shade of brownish black with an occasional hint of blue or green.

SPECIFIC GRAVITY   about 3      

LUSTER  Vitreous

STREAK  White

BREAKABILITY    Fluorrichterite has two poorly developed cleavages at angles of 120o and 60o.

OCCURRENCE   Currently the only occurrence of Fluorrichterite is in a skarn near Wilberforce, Ontario, Canada.

ASSOCIATED MINERALS Calcite, Phlogophite, Biotite, Cancrinite

MINERAL NAME  - Named after the mineral Richterite (which has no fluorine).
