CRYSTAL GROWTH AND HABITS  Crystals of Marcasite are commonly tabular, prismatic, commonly with curved faces.  Marcasite can also be stalactitic, reniform and fine grained to massive.  Cock's comb (cockscomb) marcasite is the name given to the tabular crystals that consist of repeated twinning forming fan like sprays.
