It is brittle. OCCURRENCE Mimetite is a secondary mineral found in the oxidized zone of arsenic and lead deposits. ASSOCIATED MINERALS Cerussite, Anglesite, Wulfenite, Barite, Pyromorphite. OTHER INFORMATION Mimetite was named from the Greek for imitator because it mimics Pyromorphite.
