THE HALITE INFORMATION PAGE
These pink Halite crystals are from the brine pools of Trona, California.
The pink color is due to staining by bacteria that live in the super saline
conditions of the pools. These cubic crystals also nicely display hopper
growth.
These Halite crystals are also from Searls Lake, Trona, California.
Halite cleavage fragment from the salt mine at Camp Verde, AZ. The blue
color is believed to be due to a disruption in the crystal lattice.
