1. Acts as a steward over the well-being of the college.

2. Keeps attentive to "brewing" issues.

3. Shares information to and from college community members.

4. Advises the President on topics/issues.

5. Assesses the accountability of current processes to handle college concerns.

6. Addresses controversial issues.
 

PAC Method of Operation

Meets from noon until 2:30 p.m. on the 2nd and 4th Friday of every month during the academic year. During the summer months, PAC meets on the 2nd and 4th Thursdays.

Utilizes Strategic Planning report as a foundation for decision making.

Bases action on substantive discussions.

When appropriate, and at different times, utilizes "focus groups" to include student voices, adjunct faculty voices, and community voices.

Systematically addresses issues that have been referred to the "Issue Bin."

Accepts and discusses sensitive issues.

Utilizes ground rules for operation.

• Begin with laughter/respect.
• Be respectful.
• Listen with an open mind (and respect) seek to understand.
• Honor confidentiality.
• Separate the issue from the person.
• Come prepared (do your homework).
• Foster productive exchange.

Reads and/or reviews reports from major committees.

May form ad hoc committees.

Informed alternate may attend.
