Support for United Way
is part of GCC's history

Glendale Community College (GCC) faculty and staff have a long history of serving the community, spending countless hours volunteering or contributing personal finances to support worthy community organizations.

Each year, the GCC family has the opportunity to add to that legacy by investing in the community through the College's partnership with Valley of the Sun United Way (VSUW). For more than 80 years, VSUW has focused on programs that improve the lives of local residents.

During these difficult economic times, GCC's friends, neighbors and students need the College's collective assistance. Through your contributions, GCC and VSUW can work together to improve in lasting ways the education, income and health of those in the community.

For example, a contribution of only $2 per week – the equivalent cost of one cup of coffee – would assist food banks in purchasing 12 meals for local individuals and families experiencing financial difficulties. A gift of $10 per week – the approximate cost of one meal at a restaurant – would provide 35 at-risk teens with job training and placement to help prepare them for a successful future.

Whether you are new donor to VSUW or a lifelong contributor, your support at this critical time can help to strengthen the community GCC serves and which it is a part.

GCC campus United Way co-chairs Dawna Kremin and Scott Schulz express thanks for GCC's past support of VSUW and request all members of the GCC family to consider making a contribution to VSUW. Watch your email in the coming days for details on how you can become involved in this worthwhile cause.
