Welcome to the Honors Program at Glendale Community College!
We are pleased to work with a very diverse population of students in a program that offers a challenging, engaging curriculum and aids students in transfer to university studies. Our program has several entrance points: Honors Only classes, the Presidents' Scholarship which is available to recent high school graduates, and the Honors Fee Waiver which is available to continuing students.

The 2006-08 Honors Study Topic
Gold, Gods, and Glory: the Global Dynamics of Power
Honors students will examine the human drive for power and the multiple dimensions of power. Students will explore the dynamics of power on various levels: personal, interpersonal, societal, and global. Students will also seek to understand the sources of power, considering specifically money and wealth (gold), religion and spiritual strength (gods), and personal motivators (glory).
