Instead of representing a mere headcount of all individuals named in the nomination (not everyone on the list was able or willing to participate in a typical group pose anyway), the photo submission emphasizes the variety of functions, environments, and personal work styles around which the innovation was modeled. In some cases WebScribe is used to transcribe outside sources of information or even hand written notes, while in other cases the entire process is handled within the WebScribe interface on-line.
For example, the WebScribe application of the student newspaper The Voice is unique in this grouping. The Voice staff has progressed beyond the formerly duplicated efforts of ink-first, Internet-second publications: the original source of files used in the layout of the paper version is actually the students' electronic submission of articles simultaneously prepared for the on-line version. Therefore, even the printed version of this publication (seen here getting a "post-mortem" review after release) is now largely a product and followup of the web-based process.
The in-line photo seen above is a low-resolution, compressed version of the file prepared for the nomination submission. The nomination rules called for a black and white 5x7 print, or an electronic equivalent with a minimum resolution of 150 dpi. Larger, higher-resolution color (994KB) and monochrome (669KB) photo files for printing purposes are also available for download from this web site.
