How to enable Windows 98 to view the GC-EMP domain
Network Neighborhood - A step-by-step walkthrough
This will allow users to see GCWEB and GQUIZ.
  1.  From the Start Menu, click on Settings and open Control Panel.
  2.  Open Network
  3.  Select the Identification tab and change computer name to your Glory account USERNAME and your workgroup to GC-EMP. * The computer description text box is optional.


  4. Select the Configuration tab and the select

  5. TCP/IP -> Novell ODINSUP and click on Properties
    (more than likely it is the first listing, if it isn't - it is the one with the IP address filled out )

    If you do not have a TCP/IP -> Novell ODINSUP entry, select the entry that begins with TCP/IP ->



  6. Select the WINS Configuration tab and Enable Wins Resolution.

  7. Type in the listed address 140.198.38.163 in the WINS Server box

  8. Click OK. 
    You will now need to install the Client for Microsoft Networks.
    click on the button

  10. Select Client from the network component menu and click on
  11.  

  12. Select Microsoft and then Client for Microsoft Networks and click OK.

  13. You will be prompted for the Windows 98 CD.

    If you do not have a Windows 98 CD available you can point to

      c:\windows\options for the setup files.



  14. Click OK.  You will be prompted to restart your computer,
  15. go ahead and do so.
    After logging back in you should be able to open Network Neighborhood and see the servers in the GC-EMP domain, including GCWEB & GQUIZ.

    *The following steps are optional and only needed if the user does not have a password assigned to them.

  16. After rebooting - open a DOS window and type the following:

  17. Note: The old password will be null, so just hit ENTER.
    Type EXIT when done.
