Pre/Post Testing For Course Assessment Tasklist
If you choose to run a pretest/posttest to evaluate student learning of course competencies, the College Research Services office can help you.  Office staff will perform the grading and analysis of the pretests and posttests for any GCC faculty who wish to use this instrument to help them measure student learning.

    Fall 2004 begins 8/23/2004
Note: Please plan and schedule tasks at least two weeks prior to start of semester

Notes:

CRS recommends an annual cycle for pre/post test course assessment rather than term for the following reasons:

Gives the instructor the summer to evaluate results and make any desired adjustments for the following year
Creates larger cohorts for analysis, decreasing the impact of outliers
Efficiently uses College Research Services time

CRS asks that the instructors have the responsibility of storing their own answer keys and response sheets.  CRS will only have them during the period of time that they are scanning and preparing analysis reports.
