Immigration Information

The International Student Center staff can can provide very valuable guidance and information about Immigration, Visas, regulations, and forms. Check this Immigration FAQ for additional information. Please meet with the ISC staff if you have any questions.

Below, are some links to information that you can use to help you understand the process of becoming and remaining a international student.

Maintaining Legal Status

    To keep your status as an F-1 student in the U.S. pay attention to the following:

    Make sure your passport is valid for at least six months at all times. Attend the school that issued the I-20.

    Be enrolled full time every semester. This is very. important. You must register for at least 12 credit hours every semester.

    File for an extension of your visa status if necessary before it runs out. Obtain proper authorization before you begin working on or off campus. Report any change of address.

    Follow proper procedures for transferring from one school to another.
