How do I register people for classes?
The Academy is ten months in length. It is in session March through December and then again July through May.
Academy classes start the first Sunday of March and the last Sunday in July.
What days of the week will they attend?
Spring Semester Classes - The classes starting in March meet two nights a week (Mon. and Tue., 6:30 pm to 10:30 pm), all day Sunday (6:30 am to 5 pm) and seven Saturdays (8 am to 5 pm). They graduate with full certification in December.
Fall Semester Classes - The classes starting in July meet two nights a week (Wed. and Thur., 6:30 pm to 10:30 pm), all day Sunday (6:30 am to 5 pm) and seven Saturdays (8 am to 5 pm). They graduate with full certification in May.
How do I register people for classes?
Contact the Academy Director, Penny Babb at 623.845.3951. There will be an orientation session held the week prior to the academy start date to prepare the recruits for the first day of the academy.
What will they need to register?
They need the original AzPOST Basic Training Application (AzPOST Form AA), properly completed and signed by the agency representative and the cadet.
Note: The AzPOST Form A-1 is to be sent to AzPOST, not the Academy.
The Academy is 17 credit hours the first semester and 13 credit hours the second semester. Presently the cost of tuition is $76 per credit hour. There is also a $15 registration fee each semester, $150 lab fee for the first semester and a $100 lab fee for the second semester. Total cost for the first semester is $1,457.00; second semester would be $1,103.00. Some agencies reimburse the cadets for successful completion of the program. If financial aid is needed, please contact that department at the college at least 16 weeks prior to starting the program.
When and where should the people report for the first day?
Please print and give each cadet a copy of the appropriate form that is attached to the following links:
