Patrol Rifle Concepts (AJS140AA)

A basic class on the operation and deployment of the carbine in law enforcement operations. Includes basic operation concepts as well as deployment methods and purposes.

Class is 16 hours in length and is AzPOST approved for 16 hours of continuing or proficiency training for law enforcement officers.

Class format: Two contiguous days at the range. Day one is 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. and day two is 12 p.m. to 9 p.m.

Costs: 1 credit hour plus $35 course fee. There is also a $15 registration fee if you are not currently enrolled at GCC.

Student Requirements: Students must provide a suitable shoulder fired firearm. (A .223, 7.62mm x 39mm caliber or centerfire pistol caliber semiautomatic carbine.) 500 rounds of ammunition. Sidearm with holster and 50 rounds for that weapon. Standard safety equipment (eye and ear protection and a billed cap), knee and elbow protection (optional).

Class Location: Ben Avery Firing Range located at I-17 and Carefree Highway.
