| Arizona General Education Curriculum (AGEC) | ||
The Arizona General Education Curriculum (AGEC) is a 35-semester credit block of lower division general education courses designed for students planning to transfer to Arizona public universities. Certified completion of the block satisfies admission requirements to any Arizona university and will fulfill all lower division general education requirements for the majors with which the block articulates. There are three AGEC blocks: AGEC-A, intended for liberal arts
and other majors; AGEC-B, intended for business majors; and AGEC-S,
intended for majors with more stringent mathematics and
mathematics-based science requirements. |

| Associate in Arts (AA), Fine Arts - Art | ||
Description The Maricopa County Community College District Associate in Arts, Fine Arts - Art degree requires a minimum of 63 semester credits for the program of study. The degree includes the following components: I. General Education: II. Fine Arts Requirements – Art Purpose of the DegreeThe Associate in Arts, Fine Arts - Art degree is designed for students planning to transfer to four-year colleges and universities. In general, the components of the degree meet requirements for majors in the Fine Arts. The degree is designed to prepare students to meet selective admission criteria for programs such as the Bachelor of Fine Arts, which may require a portfolio or performance requirement. The semester credits used to satisfy the MCCCD Associate in Arts, Fine Arts - Art degree will apply to university graduation requirements of the university major for which the degree is designed. | Associate in Transfer Partnership Degree (ATP) | ||
Associate in Transfer Partnership (ATP) degree is an articulated
academic program of study established among the student, the accredited
baccalaureate degree-granting institution selected by the student, and
the primary Maricopa County Community College the student attends. The
program of study will "parallel" the student's four-year degree as
designated by the baccalaureate degree-granting institution. That is,
the courses and number of credit hours in the degree will consist of
the Freshman and Sophomore lower division course degree requirements of
the major as jointly planned and agreed on with the community college
and the accredited institution to which the student plans to transfer. |

The MCCCD Associate in Business (ABus) degree requires a total of 62-63 semester credits and is designed for students who plan to transfer to Arizona's public universities into majors that articulate with one of the two ABus pathways:
The ABus GR degree is
designed for students who plan to transfer to Arizona’s public
universities into majors that articulate with the Associate in Business
General Requirements pathway and for students who plan to complete
lower division course work toward a baccalaureate program at other
degree granting institutions. All business
majors except
Accountancy and Computer Information Systems should follow the
ABus GR
pathway. Computer Information Systems majors
should follow the ABus SR pathway.
The ABus SR degree is designed for Computer Information Systems majors who plan to transfer to Arizona’s public universities and for students who plan to complete lower division course work toward a baccalaureate program at other degree granting institutions. Accountancy majors should
follow the Transfer
Guide (TG-XR) pathway.

The Certificate of Completion programs require fewer courses than degree programs and are a good choice if you seek immediate entry into the work force or on-the-job advancement. Certificate programs can lead to an Associate in Applied Science Degree, but courses do not necessarily transfer to a university. |

| The Academic Certificate (area of emphasis) is a defined and coherent program of study that is recommended for students who wish to gain additional expertise in an academic area. While this program of study can result in proficiency in specified skills and competencies, as well as mastery of knowledge, it is not designed to prepare someone for employment in a specific occupation. | ||
