Associate of Arts Degree (AA)
----------------------------------------------------------------------

The Associate of Arts (AA) degree is recommended to students who plan to complete lower division work towards a baccalaureate program. A minimum of 60 credits in courses numbered 100 or above is required for an AA degree and includes (a) 18 credits in a general studies core; (b) 28-29 additional credits distributed over four areas of general studies courses; and (c) 13-14 additional elective credits chosen from courses numbered 100 or above.

Baccalaureate requirements vary considerably among and within universities. It is strongly recommended that students carefully select courses which will meet specific university program requirements. A current catalog of the selected university should be consulted. Students should work closely with a university academic advisor.

Grade Requirement

All courses applied to the degree must be completed with a grade of "C" or better.

Acceptability of Cross-Referenced Courses in AA Degree

Courses which are cross-referenced with other courses which meet the AA degree requirements are acceptable options within the degree.
