Grade requirements are listed for specific areas such as the Core where a minimum grade of C is required. Courses applied to other areas may be completed with a minimum grade of D.
Acceptability of Cross-Referenced Courses in AGS Degree
Courses which are cross-referenced with other courses which meet the AGS degree requirements are acceptable options for the degree.

creditsStudents who receive an AGS degree from the Maricopa County Community Colleges must complete the following 16 credits. However, students who demonstrate skills comparable to those in Critical Reading and / or Mathematics and / or Computer Usage may substitute acceptable elective courses to meet the total credits required for the degree. creditsStudents who receive an AGS degree from the Maricopa County Community Colleges must complete 27-29 credits in the four General Studies Distribution areas listed below. No more than two courses, or their modular equivalencies, from a single prefix may be used to complete the Distribution requirements in Humanities and Fine Arts and Social and Behavioral Sciences. Any combination of three credits with the same course prefix and number satisfies this requirement. However, a student may use any courses from the prefixes within these areas to meet the additional requirements in elective courses (minimum of 15-17 credits). Humanities and Fine Arts 8-9
creditsNo more than two courses, or their modular equivalencies, from a single prefix may be used to complete the Distribution requirements in Humanities and Fine Arts.
