Program Description: This program is intended for people who have extensive drafting background but wish to expand those skills to computer data bases. Students will acquire computer aided-drafting (CAD) skills and will learn how to generate CAD graphics and to manage various operating systems, software, and design data.
Program Prerequisites: (0-4.5 credits) Credits
  CAD 100 Survey of the CAD Profession (recommended) .5
  CAD 105 Sketching 1
  CAD 110 Geometric Construction 1
  CAD 115 Multiview Presentation 1
  DFT 103 Introduction to Computer Aided Drafting (1) (recommended) OR
Equivalent experience 1
Required Courses: (17-18 credits) Credits
Students must earn a grade of "B" or better for each course listed in the Required Courses category to qualify for the certificate.
  CAD 120 Getting started with CAD 1
+CAD 125 Drawing Database Management 1
+CAD 150 Two-Dimensional CAD (AutoCAD) 1
+CAD 152 Advanced 2-D CAD (AutoCAD) 1
+CAD 200 Three-Dimensional CAD (AutoCAD) 1
+CAD 201 Advanced 3-D and Solids 1
+CAD 202 Operating Systems, Software, and Data Management 1
+DFT 260 Introduction to AutoLISP 1
+ELT  183AA Operating Systems/PC 2
Students must select two of the following:
+CAD 204 Screen Menu Customization (AutoCAD) (1)
+CAD 205 Tablet-Overlay Customization (AutoCAD) (1)
+CAD 206 Pull-Down Menu Customization (AutoCAD) (1)
+CAD 207 Windows Customization (AutoCAD Windows) (1) 2
Students must select one of the following clusters:
Manufacturing CAD: (5 credits) Credits
Prerequisite courses for Manufacturing CAD option: CAD 132, CAD 156, and CAD 240. Students must either complete the prerequisites or demonstrate equivalent experience.

Prerequisite course for Architectural CAD option; CAD 160. Students must either complete the prerequisite or demonstrate equivalent experience.

Civil CAD: (6 credits) Credits
Prerequisite courses for Civil Drafting option: CAD 140 and DFT 107. Students must either complete the prerequisites or demonstrate equivalent experience.
