Fernando Camou earned his B.S., M.S. and Ph.D. in Chemistry from
the University of Arizona. Dr. Camou came to Glendale Community College
in 1989 and has been serving as the Chemistry Department Chair since 1995.
Dr. Camou has been involved with Multiple Intelligences/Learning for Understanding
Program for six years in Organic Chemistry, CHM235 and 236. Dr. Camou wants
to give his students the opportunity and challenge to study and learn the
subject matter in whatever way is most efficient and effective for them.
He encourages his students to be creative in finding what works for them,
and he believes that MI/LfU is a powerful tool at their disposal.
Fernando will be presenting the session, "Causing Students to React
in the Chemistry Lecture." Some of the most imaginative and creative Learning
Options have been demonstrated by his Chemistry students.
