Kam Majer earned her BA in psychology from the University of Washington,
her MA in applied behavioral science from Whitworth College and her MS
and PhD in psychology from the University of Washington. Kam was a part-time
adjunct faculty member at Central Washington University and a research
project coordinator at the Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center in Seattle,
WA, prior to accepting a full time position in the psychology department
at Glendale Community College. For the past seven years, Kam has been the
assistant chair of the psychology department. She has been actively using
a Multiple Intelligence/Learning for Understanding approach to adult education
and has been involved in the MI/LfU Program for eight years. The classes
she has taught using this method include Introduction to Psychology, Introduction
to Human Sexuality, Health Psychology, Social Psychology, and Sports Psychology.
Kam is committed to using this approach to education in her courses because
of its positive academic impact on her students, the classroom environment
and her interactions with her students. Using an MI/LfU approach
to education, students are able to demonstrate
their ability to
understand and apply core concepts of psychology in each of these courses.
Kam will co-facilitate the session, "WADDA U WANNA NO?" with Sally Johnson, Psychology.
