Angela
Mick, Ph.D.
A fairly recent "transplant" to Arizona, Angela Mick, originally hails from Centralia, Illinois. She obtained a BS in Zoology with minors in Chemistry and Animal Science from Southern Illinois University at Carbondale before moving onto the National University of Health Sciences. At NUHS she earned an additional BS in Human Bilogy and a Doctoral degree in Chiropractic Medicine.
Angela has been teaching at Glendale Community College in the Biology Department since 1998. Her involvement in MI/LfU began in the Spring of 2002. She currently offers this approach in general Biology for Non-Majors. She believes using this method is very useful in a course of this level because the students actually learn and understand the material and find useful applications for it in their daily lives.
Angela will co-facilitate the session, "MI/LfU Brain Power: How to Get Students Excited about Science," with Ann Brandt-Williams, Psychology.
