Honor Society Sociology: Alpha Kappa Delta
Alpha Kappa Delta represents the united chapters of the International Sociology Honor Society whose collective purpose is to promote an interest in the study of sociology, research of social problems, and such other social and intellectual activities as will lead to improvement in the human condition. Sociological Inquiry serves as the Society's academic journal.
Although AKD membership requires junior (third year) undergraduate or graduate student standing, a declared Sociology major, and maintaining a 3.0 grade point average at a four-year college or university, GCC's faculty enthusiastically supports the ideals of AKD's academic excellence and community service. GCC faculty encourage lower division students interested in Sociology to inquire about membership when transferring to a four-year college or university.
