Friday Mornings Create-A-Vision Field Trips are a result of GCC's partnership with the Alhambra Elementary School District. Tours are held on selected Friday mornings throughout the fall and spring semesters.

Arizona Town Hall
The Arizona Town Hall is an independent, nonprofit membership organization that identifies critical issues facing Arizona, creates the forum for education and exploration of the topic, and fosters leadership development. By drawing upon Arizona's diversity of citizens, the Town Hall process promotes public consideration of these issues, builds consensus and supports implementation of the resulting recommendations through its members.

A limited number of students from across the state are provided the opportunity of participating in the Arizona Town Hall's bi-annual gatherings. Applicants for student participation are available from the Office of Student Life.

The 85th Arizona Town Hall will take place on October 31 - November 3 on the subject "Achieving a Sustainable Water Future for All of Arizona" at the Grand Canyon. For more information, please see the web_site at: www.aztownhall.org/

Student Public Policy Forum (SPPF)
The Student Public Policy Forum (SPPF) is a co-curricular activity of the Maricopa Community Colleges that provides an overview of local and national public policy making, citizen influence and involvement. A focus is placed on experiential learning, leadership development, and student engagement in public policy processes. College credit may be available upon request with additional requirements.

The program runs from October 2004 through March 2005. Applications may be submitted to your campus contact from July 1st through September 17th. Most meetings are scheduled monthly on Fridays from 1 pm to 4 pm at Rio Salado College in Tempe. Please see the web_site for more information: www.maricopa.edu/sppf

Spring 2005 SLE Internships
Internships are available to students who have successfully completed level 200 of the Student Leadership Experience and are ready to take on greater roles and responsibilities by leading and mentoring other students in the program.

The Student Leadership Coordinator will assist the Student Life Program Advisor in the development and co-facilitation of monthly workshops provided throughout the academic year. For example: leadership theory, social change, diversity, multiculturalism, networking, conflict management, and event planning.

The Hunger and Homelessness Coordinator will help develop and supervise the Hunger and Homelessness Awareness Week activities held during the fall semester.

The Civic Engagement/Community Service Coordinator assists in the development and supervision of civic engagement and service-related projects for Glendale Community College Students.
