Resources abound for those looking at student employment
By Rainet LewisReporter, The Voice
Is it hard balancing being a student and having a job? How many jobs are out there?
There are many ways to search for a job while being a student. One way is to stop by the Career counseling services (CCS) and check out the job listings. Littering the tables you will find more than a handful of flyers advertising potential employment opportunities.
Scott Schulz is the Director of the Career & Employment Services. Scott helps out employees find employers and visa versa. Information involving jobs, internships, resume writing, and off campus employment can be found at the CCS.
"Students can [also] go to our website, because we have a lot of careers. It depends on what kind of jobs the students are looking for." Glendale Community College (GCC) has gone online in cooperation with jobing.com to create the Maricopa Career network. It is available for students to get on the net and check job listings in the local area.
If the first two options aren't your cup of tea, students can also check out the 120 job strong spring career expo held April 14th 2008. Don't procrastinate; if you need a job, the information is within your grasp.
Stop the Counseling & Career Services Building, or contact Schulz for more information on the CCS. To contact him, email to Scott.Schulz@gccmail.maricopa.edu.
