Share a ride; catch the bus
If college students, who are on a tight budget, used public transportation then it could save them money in the end. In Phoenix to ride the bus around town it will only cost you sixty cents, and you can get a pass which is known as a transfer which will allow you to ride the bus free. You will have to renew the pass every two hours, but you can keep riding the bus for only sixty cents and you can go anywhere that the bus line goes to.
Another source of good transportation for students is if they car pool. By having students carpool with each other they can cut down the pollution levels, and if you car pool then you can save money on gas. By car pooling with other students you can save parking spaces in the parking lot for other students. The car pooling could save your car because if you split the driving between people then you can reduce the wear and tear on your vehicle. Also, by car pooling you can help reduce the heavy traffic around the valley.
As the gas prices rise, public transportation will be a good alternative for people, sure it means that you may have to get up earlier then usual to be able to catch the bus, but in the end when the gas prices reach over $2.00 a gallon you can spend sixty cent and get to work.
If you still chose to drive yourself to school then try and be courteous in the parking lot by slowing down when entering or leaving the parking lot. Be aware of the other drivers and pedestrians that may be walking in the parking lot. To gain just a few seconds or minutes is not worth someone else’s life. If you are running that late then you should better prepare yourself by either living a little earlier.
