Sixties-style music rocks listeners

Nina Hogopian

As powerful and deep as music comes, “The Shore” provides listeners with a sixties-style rock with heartfelt lyrics that are bound to get you groovin’. Front man vocalist and lead guitarist Ben Ashley, writes passionate lyrics with a poetic influence that empowers the album. With Kyle Mullarky on bass and John Wilmer on drums, this trio has the ability to bring modern rock music a style that’s truly original. The band formed in 2002 on the Silver Lake scene. The Shore’s band consists of locals from Philadelphia, Detroit and California. The band brings together a view from all around the United States that sets a new dimension in rock culture. The Shore’s self-titled album features 10 uplifting tracks. The album contains a wide range of musical taste from classical piano, to an upbeat rock sound, to a soothing guitar that’s utterly remarkable. As each song plays, the overpowering messages come through crystal clear. The metaphors relate in many ways messages about life, love, and loneliness. The Shore appears to have a very positive career ahead of it. Each track unfolds its own mystery. From the symbolic message in “Hold On,” to the sixties style rock in “Firefly,” to the opening notes in “Hard Road,” The Shore has something to offer for every musical taste. The arrival of a new and young band with such powerful music is a strong asset in rock culture. But with all of their similarities to other bands, The Shore has a diversity in their music that has fans glowing at their originality.
