Between spring and fall of 2007, GCC is undergoing a major redesign of both its public web presence and the organization behind it. The process is still underway, but the information in the remainder of this section about how the GCC Web is managed may be considered archival until further notice.Summary
Approved by the Web Steering Committee 4/3/02; elements in brackets have been updatedGCC promotes a distributed web development philosophy, wherein the on-line presence of the college reflects the diverse talents and viewpoints of its students and employees in accordance with the GCC Web Mission Statement.
Academic and non-academic departments maintain sites that emphasize their service roles, while the Innovation Center manages the GCC Home Page and other interfaces that catalog and link the various aspects of the GCC Web. The main web servers are administered by Network Services [ Office of Information Technology* ] personnel.
College-wide web development is also managed by the Web Steering Committee, which has established guidelines for department and personal web sites. Personal web space is provided for all college employees (see the Directory) as part of their standard resources, and for all students as an aspect of the Instructional Palette. The web sites of departments and individuals are expected to adhere to Maricopa's Computing Resource Standards [ Maricopa's Technology Resource Standards** ].
