Authoring a Service Oriented Web Site

[Presented by Lori Bush and Amber Medrano]

Amber Medrano of GCC Network Services and Lori Bush of GCC Procurement & Property Control have researched and organized an overview of designing and maintaining a non-academic department's web resources, based on their experiences behind the creation of the Network Services and Procurement & Property Control web sites for their campus.

Their outline addresses the gamut of benefits and concerns a service-oriented department must discover and work through in the effort to use the Web to improve their internal work flow while raising the quality of the service they provide. Any Maricopa department faced with designing or redesigning a web site can save some trial-and-error time by using this overview as a guide or checklist toward successful results.

The outline for Authoring a Service Oriented Web Site is published at http://www.gc.maricopa.edu/ppcweb/webcommittee.htm.
